Weight Loss Healing Program

Lifestyle

Early To Bed & Early To Rise: try to get 8 hrs of sleep during the night. Go to bed between 9:00-10:00 pm and wake up between 5:00-6:00 am. Eat dinner 2-3 hrs before going to bed. Do not eat anything after 7:00 pm. Avoid day time naps and sleeping or bathing immediately after meals. Occasional Sauna and Steam baths are recommended. Weigh yourself every day in the morning.

Water Intake

Drink two full glasses of warm water, with 1 tsp lemon juice, after waking up. Try to have complete bowel evacuation every morning. Increase your daily intake of water (without ice) and try to drink 2 liters (0.5 gallons) during the day. Avoid all juices and soda.

Yoga and Exercise


Practice 4-6 rounds of Surya Namaskar (Sun salutation) in the morning. Other useful poses for you are: Pavanmuktasana, Vajrasana (after meals), Yoga Nidra and Kapalbhati. Join a Yoga class and research them online. Slow relaxed walking is strongly recommended, especially after meals. Do moderate intensity aerobic/cardio exercise 5-7 times a week, for 30-45 min each time. Avoid sitting for long and take frequent walking breaks.

Avoid

Overeating, Fasting, Alcohol, Cheese and Dairy products, Meat, White bread, Banana, Rice, Yogurt, Processed and canned food, Fried foods, Desserts, Artificial sweeteners.

Prefer

Small frequent meals, Eating slowly and mindfully, Fresh fruits, Salads, Sprouts, Vegetable soups, Mild green or black tea, Whole wheat pasta or tortilla, Mung beans, Lentils. Use Ginger, Garlic, Black pepper, Cumin, Coriander, and Turmeric for cooking.

Herbal Supplement

It contains several herbs: Boerhavia diffusa, Commiphora mukul, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia billerica, Emblica officinalis, Piper nigrum, Piper longum, Zingiber officinale, Cyperus rotundus, Curcuma longa, Plantago ovata, Trigonella fenum, and Aloe vera. One tsp of this herbal supplement powder is stirred in a cup of water, along with 1 tsp local honey, and taken orally twice a day, after breakfast and dinner.

Further Management

Herbal supplements take 2-6 months to show their effect and are typically continued for 1-2 yrs for chronic illnesses.
